Hey there! Hope you’re doin good today?!
The Wombats are 1 of 5 nominees for the MTV Europe Music Award Nov 6th, for ‘Best UK Act’. They are up against UK soul stars Adele (who i don’t care much for tho nothing against her voice) and Duffy (great voice but someone PLEASE teach her how to dress..i mean, did you see her on SNL the other week??), X Factor (it’s a brit show) winner Leona Lewis and Manchester’s The Ting Tings (oo oo “we started some-thing”…”shut up n let me go” fame).

btw a bit of background..as you might’ve read in a previous post, i was in NYC when the Wombats & Kooks played Stone Pony in NJ (apparently this is where a certain jersey-ite named BS (dont like him so not givin him more than that!) 1st played and since then Stone Pony has apparently become some sort of an institution –all bands must play there as they pass thru the area. well while it’s nothing special far as venue goes it was a great show..nice to be up close n personal in small ones like that. and yes, the sound was great. and drinks were cheap (love those plastic cups!) so it was all worth it!!
We did the interview before the show at Stone Pony and we went to take some pics and noticed this crazy ass piece of ‘art work’ in the club’s trailer (pictured here) … i don’t know *what* this painter was on when s/he did this but it’s like a wacko version of E.T. or something (hey, why’s it driving and how did the boy end up in the basket?? ARGH they’ve changed history!) anyways we thought it was pretty outrageous and Dan made like he was giving an pop art history lesson. great sense of humour that guy has. then again, of course…ever LIStened to the Wombats lyrics? makes purr fect sense. enjoy…
